Natalya Kuziak

Natalya is the lead coach for the Nakkertok Masters. Natalya Kuziak is a cross country skier, cyclist and triathlete who has been racing since 1978. For the last six years (2003-2009) she has offered a popular dryland training program for masters skiers in the fall and ski instruction for individuals and large groups. Natalya coached the Nakkertok Nordic Masters in 2008-2009. She coached the Chelsea Nordiq Masters, Citizen Racers in 2007-2008. Natalya also raced with and coached the University of Ottawa Cross Country Ski Team from 1992 to 1994. She has coached and managed the Regina, Saskatoon and Saskatchewan teams at numerous races, including two Canada Summer Games, many interprovincial races and provincial training camps. Natalya was the Northern Technical Director for the Saskatchewan Cycling Association in 1988, responsible for organizing both races and training camps.

Christa Ramonat

Christa is a co-coach of the Nakkertok Masters, providing coaching for roller skiiing and on snow sessions. She is a Level Three CCA certified coach in cross-country skiing as well as a Level One CANSI coach. She has extensive experience coaching at all age and ability levels, working with clubs, schools, group clinics, training camps and individual private lessons. Christa began coaching at the age of fourteen as an alpine coach and has a wealth of coaching experience in a variety of other sports. In addition to ski racing, she believes in cross training and is an active tennis player, cyclist, rower and swimmer. For the last two years, she co-coached with Natalya Kuziak for the Nakkertok Nordic Masters and the Chelsea Nordiq Masters.

STEPHAN SANDER

Stephan is a co-coach for the dryland and on-snow sessions.  Stephan is an experienced athlete and skier who has represented Canada at the world junior and senior championships in numerous international competitions. He was a 12-year member of Canada’s junior and senior national ski teams, a five-time Canadian champion and is a previous winner of the Gatineau 55 (the Gatineau Loppet).  Stephan has experience coaching both junior and master skiers in Montana and in the Ottawa area.  Stephan was a co-coach for the Nakkertok Masters in 2008-2009 and a very welcome addition to the coaching team.

Christopher Hollway

Chrisopher is an assistant coach for the on-snow sessions. He has been involved in all aspects of cross country skiing since 1959. Representing Nakkertok on the National Capital Division (NCD) team, Christopher raced internationally in the 7190s and was a Canadian championship medalist. At this time he designed the Nakkertok Logo. From racing Christopher turned to coaching, first as NCD coach in 1976-77, then the NWT Technical Director in 1977-1979, and the Ontario Team head coach in 1979-1981. He authored the NWT Skiers Guide, earned his Level 4 Coaching certificate, and level 3 Instructor qualification, and was a founding board member of CANSI, the Canadian Association of Nordic Ski Instructors. Christopher was a member of the Soviet-Canadian Polar Bridge expedition skiing over the North Pole from Siberia to Canada in 1988 and received the order of Friendship from the USSR and the Pierre de Coubertin Award from UNESCO. Christopher was a part the first crossing of the Pen Ice cap, Baffin Island in 1989; he was a leader of the 1990 Student Icewalk expedition; and he was a co-leader of a 2005 North Pole expedition.
