Benefits of Joining Nakkertok
Joining Nakkertok gives you access to 75 kilometers of the best groomed trails in Canada. In fact, one of our groomers has been selected for grooming ski trails at the 2010 Olympics. Not only are the trails well-groomed, but they also cover a wide variety of terrain from rolling flats to technical climbs and downhills, perfect for perfecting your technique on all terrain types. It's a great change from the parkways and terrain you find in Gatineau Park.
At night, a good selection of trails are lit making skiing and training so much more enjoyable. Two thirds of our on snow Masters practices will be conducted in the evening, so having lit trails is a treat.
Nakkertok South has a heated ski chalet, tables to eat at, seating in front of a TV for video analysis, and places to store your gear. It's a great place to change your boots, warm-up, and socialize to meet other master skiers or club members. There's a waxing area and nearly odourless composting toilets.
Your Nakkertok membership will give you a discount at all Nakkertok races and a 15% discount at Fresh Air Experience. Additional discounts at other retailers are in the works.
Nakkertok has a very experienced Level 4 CCA Head Coach, Mike Vieira, who will be overseeing the Nakkertok Masters program and offering his great advice for our practices.
Nakkertok South is located only 10 minutes from downtown Ottawa. From downtown, the travelling distance is about the same as Gatineau Park's P10.
Nakkertok also has a Northern set of trails, with access from Hwy 366 near Wakefield, which offer classic skiers an opportunity to explore more rugged terrain, camp overnight, or participate in the Nakkerloppet in the spring.
