On Saturday up at Nakkertok North we went for a really fun ski. It was minus 25degrees and it was very cold! On the ski we went up Heartbreak Hill, but it was very hard because when we got near the top we had to break trail because coach Jen told us to. Going up was hard, but at least it warmed us up!!  Coming down was definitely more fun!

When we got to the race site I started to feel scared. After the coaches took us out skiing I felt better and was excited about the race. Me and my friends played around. When it was time for the race I told myself its not about winning or losing. Its about having fun and enjoying yourself. So that's what I did. When the horn went off I just had fun and tried hard. When it was over I was so happy with myself. After the race my brother and Dad went to a hockey game and me and my Mom had hot chocolate and hung out together.

Knock-in Sprints a HUGE Success!

On Saturday January 16th, the Nakkertok Racing Rabbits took part in the "Knock-In" Sprints.  The race consisted of a loop starting and ending at the top of the Play Park.  It was really fun for everyone and a great way to practice sprints.  Everyone started in heats going four at a time.  Each rabbit went six times in total and raced against different people each time.  Unlike "Knock-Out" Sprints, instead of racers getting eliminated, everyone stayed racing.  I think my favourite part of the race was when the coaches raced Nina's brother (Aidan) who was on one ski and he won!  As I said it was great fun and everyone enjoyed it!

Sunday Jan 10 '10 was the first ever (I think) practice race at Nakkertok south. I think the idea was to give us racers and the coaches a chance to sort of remember how the whole race scene works.
